Ideas to replicate parent's scrapbook

Spending sleepless nights trying to think of a unique gift for your parents on their anniversary? One great idea would be to carry forward their legacy of scrapbooking. If your mother or father (or both) are heavily into scrapbooking, you can create an adorable gift for them at negligible cost. Just pick up one of their scrapbooks and make an exact replica of it, but with you and your new family as the focal point. Do not get so worked up! Follow these simple steps which will get you closer to your goal. 1. If it is a simple family scrapbook then that makes things easier for you. Simply replicate all the pictures by going to all the places where they were clicked and then taking snaps in the exact same pose. Only this time, instead of your parents, it will be you and your spouse, partner or sibling posing that way. 2. Once you have made copies of pictures in the exact same pose, do not forget to make a backup of all. It is important to preserve old pictures, and equally important to make a backup on a reliable photo-hosting website. 3. If the scrapbook has holiday memories in the form of train/air tickets, shells (if it was a beach holiday), movie tickets etc, then make an effort to get them in real time as well. Like an evening show movie ticket can be procured to replicate a similar ticket – of a different movie of course—that your parents enjoyed in their hay days. 4. You can either make a collage of these pictures, or just use the new ones. A collage would bring about the contrast between two eras and would also add comic relief to the whole idea. If the parental scrapbook has been viewed by everyone in the family a zillion times, then simply use the new pictures. Everyone would be able to make out the similarities. It would also serve as a good excuse to take the old book out. 5. Protective cardboard box can be made for the new scrapbook and the old one as well. This way, it will be easy to store both at the same place and would prolong their lives.
