It was later acquired by Google in 2004. Picasa offers an array of features to its users. Right from importing, to tracking, facial recognition, tagging, sorting and several editing facilities. Here’s how you can upload photos from Picasa to SmugMug:
- Add a ‘SmugMug’ button to your Picasa account. So that you can directly upload picasa photos to your SmugMug galleries.
- Click here (http://www.smugmug.com/photos/picasa/picasa2smugmug.pbz ) to download ‘picasa2smugmug.pbz’ file and Click yes when it ask if you want to install a button:
- Add the button within Picasa:
- Select photos from your Picasa album that you want to upload to Smugmug. Then click the teal ‘SmugMug button’. You'll be asked for the login to your SmugMug account.
- Fill in your account information.
- Select an existing SmugMug gallery, or create a new one to upload photos from Picasa.

Click the upload button and you’re done. You have successfully uploaded your Picasa photos to SmugMug.

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!

PicBackMan was an answer to many a prayer. How can I get this MASSIVE collection of photos onto a service that cripples uploading? PicBackMan.
