iPhoto allows you to import photos to organize and create a photo slideshow and book. If you edit your photo in iPhoto, a copy of your original photo is created and stored in the iPhoto library in case you need it. If you make any changes to a photo or crop it or remove red-eye, then always you have the ability to return to the original photo. If you want to return to your photo, then select "Revert To Original" option from the iPhoto Edit menu. You can also make a duplicate of the original photo for extra protection or to try out different versions. You just need to click the photo and press "Command-D" to create an exact duplicate photo in the iPhoto library.
