If you need some photos, videos or files which are stored on your computer, then you can use options like "Shared Folders" or "Remote Desktop". But these options are too complicating. If you want to access all the photos, videos and files on Windows 10 PC from anywhere, then you can use "OneDrive". OneDrive has feature which allows you to browse all the photos, videos, files, folders including external USB and hard disk drives attached to computer. To use this feature, you need to download and install "OneDrive" app, your computer should be ON and connected to the internet.
To enable "Universal Access", open "OneDrive" app on your PC and sign in to your Microsoft account. Open OneDrive settings by right-clicking the OneDrive icon on the task bar, in lower-right corner of the screen, and click on Settings. Check mark "Let me use OneDrive to fetch any of my files on this PC" and "Start OneDrive automatically when I sign in to Window" options and click "Ok" button. This will not upload all your files from computer to Microsoft's servers. None of your files are uploaded and this will not count against your cloud storage.
Once you have enabled "Universal Access" option, go to OneDrive website and login to your account. To access your files, click "PC" tab located at the left side column, under all your folders.
You can access these files from the web only and in any web browser on any platform. This feature is not available in the OneDrive mobile app. You can access files on Windows PC using a Mac, but other way is not possible. This feature is available only on windows 10.
