What is tilt-shift photography?

A Tilt-shift is a new photography technique gaining momentum these days. It is a very creative and unique technique in photography in which your camera manipulates a life size subject or a location to look like its miniature model. You can use this technique to transform your standard photos into fun tilt-shift style miniature pictures. The tilt shift technique adds a good miniature effect to your photographs.When you shoot a subject from high angles, tilt-shift creates an illusion of looking down at a miniature model. At this point, you may ask what do you need to start taking pictures with a tilt-shift? Well, a camera equipped with a tilt-shift lens, which simulates a shallow depth of field, is essentially all you need to start. The second thing that you need is a little understanding as to when to use a tilt-shift technique. Technically, Tilt–shift" is actually two different types of movements: i.e. - Tilt - which is rotation of the lens plane relative to the image plane and - Shift - which is movement of the lens parallel to the image plane. The tilt shift lenses and technique were mainly designed for architectural photography. When you take a picture of a building with a normal lens, the parallel lines appear to converge. But with the use of a tilt-shift technique architectural photographers have overcome this problem. Today, It is used in all types of photography. Any photograph that has depth can be a good choice for a tilt-shift technique.
