Photography blunders mothers should avoid

Mothers always look for tips and tricks to improve the quality of their photography, which is really great. However, it is equally important to learn about common blunders so that they don’t repeat what others do wrong.

Clicking pictures of kids should be a fun activity, to be enjoyed by both the mom and the child. The joy should remain intact even after you upload the pictures to your computer and see the end result.

If you are not happy with what you see, then you probably need to take a look at this list of blunders... maybe one of these is ruining your happy moment behind the camera?

1. Do not use direct flash on your kids while photographing. Not only is that a bad idea if what you want are quality photographs, it might also scare your baby whose eyes might be sensitive to light.

2 Do not ask kids to pose and say “cheese” all the time! Go candid and snap them in their natural environment. Otherwise all pictures of your kids would have the exact same expression.

3  If you have hired the services of a professional photographer, then let him do his job and do not try to interfere. Mothers do have a habit of taking over matters which concern their children. But as far as photography was concerned, he (and not you) is the expert. So stay calm and enjoy the moment.

4 How many times have you watched your kid do something cute and adorable and then scramble to take your camera out to capture it, but by the time you do that, the moment’s gone? Then do not repeat that mistake and always keep a camera handy.

5 Do not shy away from taking close-ups of a child’s face. As a mom, you would naturally want to see your kid’s entire body in a picture, but the expression and innocence of a child can truly be captured in close-ups. So do not hesitate to zoom in.
