Box service is built for file sharing and collaboration mostly for professional users. It offers more extensive storage plans than other online storage services. Their plans start from 100 GB for $5/user/month with 2GB file upload size limit and customized unlimited plan for $35/user/month with 5GB file upload size limit. Picasa is a photo editing and organizing website which allows you to backup photos and videos. It offers 1GB of free storage space to store photos and videos. You will get more space on Box cloud storage service than Picasa.
Here are the steps Move Photos from Picasa Web to Box:
- Go to https://picasaweb.google.com/ & sign in to your account.
- You will see all your photo and video albums.
- Click your photo from an album which you want to download.
- You will see a photo in bigger size.
- Click "Actions" button located at top of the photo.
- Select "Download photo" option.
- Your browser prompts you to save .zip file, then click "Save" and specify a location to download. The downloaded zip file will contain the photo from the Picasa web.
- Your Photo will now be downloaded to computer.
- Go to https://www.box.com/ & sign in to your account. If you don't have an account, then create one.
- Click "New..." button located at left side of the window.
- Select "New Folder" option. Specify a folder name for your photo album.
- Click "Okay" button.
- Click on the folder you created. You will see an empty folder at the moment. It is because you haven't uploaded anything here yet.
- Click "Upload" button located left side of the screen to upload photos to this folder.
- Select "Upload File" option.
- A "File upload" window opens up. Browse & select photos which you want to upload.
- Once your files are successfully uploaded, you will be prompted with a message that says "Upload complete".
- You have another option to upload the photos i.e "Drag-and-drop". Here you can simply drag your photos directly from your computer to a location in your Box account.
- This is how you can move photos from Picasa Web to Box.

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!

PicBackMan was an answer to many a prayer. How can I get this MASSIVE collection of photos onto a service that cripples uploading? PicBackMan.
