Last Updated :You can manually add photos from your iPhoto library to My Photo Stream whether automatic uploading is ON or OFF. Once you have added photos to My Photo Stream, you can view them an all the devices in your photo stream. iCloud allows you to store up to 1000 photos to My Photo Stream. When you add a new photo to My Photo Stream after you reach the limit, the oldest photo is removed. iCloud saves your new photos for 30 days.
Following are the steps to Add Photos to My Photo Stream on Mac Using iPhoto:
- Open "iPhoto" on your Mac.
- Select the photos which you want to add.
- You have 3 options to add photos to my Photo Stream.
a) Click "Share" button located in the toolbar and click "iCloud" and then click "My Photo Stream".
b) Click "Add to" button located in the toolbar and click "iCloud" and then click "My Photo Stream".
c) Drag the photos to "iCloud" located in the "Source list" and click "My Photo Stream". - Select any one of the above options to add photos to My Photo Stream on Mac.

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
