Following are the steps to Add Photos and Video Clips from Photos App to iMovie:
- Open "iMovie" on your Mac.
- Select your Photos app from the Library list.
- Click the pop up menu located at the top of the browser.
- Choose a content category and scroll through the thumbnails of photos and video clips in that category.
- Select the photo or video clip which you want to use to see a preview in the viewer.
- You have 2 options to Add photos and video clips into iMovie.
a) Drag a photo or video clip to the timeline between clips or between a clip and a transition to insert the photo or video clip into iMovie. When you drag the photo or video clip, you will see a blue box in the timeline which shows where the photo or video clip will appear in the timeline.
b) Drag the photo or video clip on top od a clip in the timeline to Replace a clip. When you drag the photo or video clip, you will see a white border located around the clip in the timeline. When you release the mouse button you will get the menu, choose "Replace" option. Your photo or video clip replaces the clip in the timeline.
