Google+ is a social networking service where you can backup photos and videos to share with family and friends. Google+ allows you to automatically backup photos and video to your account. To do this, you need to turn ON 'Auto Backup' feature. To turn ON 'Auto Backup', open the 'Google+' app on your iOS device and tap 'Menu' icon. Tap 'Gear' icon located at the top right corner on the screen and select "Camera and Photos" option. Move slider from left to right to turn ON "Auto Backup". After you have turned ON 'Auto Backup', you can manage how and when photos and videos are uploaded to Google+ from your iOS device.
You can change the follwing Settings:
Full Size Backups:
This is a default setting in Google+. If you switch the setting to ON to choose 'Full Size Backups', it uploads your photos with their original resolution. You can upload photos up to 100 MB size limit. If you run out of storage limit, Google+ will send you the notification and it will automatically switch to storing photos at Standard Size. If you switch the setting to OFF, it uploads photos in Standard Size. If you choose this, your photos will be resized which is helpful for sharing your photos on the web. Google+ allows you to backup unlimited number of Standard Size photos.
When to Backup Photos:
Once 'Auto Backup' is enabled, you will see 2 options i.e "Over Wi-Fi or Mobile Network" & "Over Wi-Fi only". If you set 'Over Wi-Fi or Mobile Network', it will automatically backup photos when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or your mobile device. Backing up photos over your mobile network will use your data connection and charges may apply from your service provider. If you set 'Over Wi-Fi only', it will backup photos when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Backup All Photos and Videos:
If you tap 'Back up All', all your photos and videos will be backed up to Google+ from your iOS device. This will happen when your setting preferences will be done. If you have your Auto Backup set to only backup when your device is charging and you select 'Back up All' option, then it will begin to backup your photos and videos when your device is being charged.
