What is "waiting for faster network" message in Dropbox camera uploads?

Last Updated :

Dropbox camera upload feature is a handy and useful feature when it comes to uploading your phone or SD cards photos automatically. Sometimes while working around with Dropbox camera upload feature, you may encounter a message that reads "waiting for faster network". There are three possibilities why you may see this message.

Camera uploads display the "waiting for a faster network" message when your device is:
  • Waiting for a 3G or faster connection (4G, WiFi, etc.)
  • In roaming mode (in this case the Dropbox app will not use your mobile data plan)
  • Connected to WiFi and data (2G or less), and there is an issue with your WiFi connection
In order to overcome this situation, please verify that you have a strong WiFi connection. If this does not resolve the issue please try signing out and back into the Dropbox app/account. To do so, follow the process below:
  1. Open the Dropbox app.
  2. Tap Recents.
  3. Tap the gear icon.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Sign out from Dropbox.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
