Dropbox camera upload feature is a useful tool when it comes to automatically uploading videos and photos that you take from your phone. While the feature is easy and simple, but you may encounter situations that may leave you confused. So, if sometimes you see an error message that reads 'Camera Upload Suspended', do the following:
Some older versions of the Dropbox app had an issue where existing photos weren't uploaded if:
- Camera uploads was first enabled when you weren't connected to the internet (for example, your device was in airplane mode)
- Camera uploads was first enabled when your iOS device was set to only connect to data, and camera uploads was set to only work when your device was connected to wifi
New photos taken after you reconnected to the internet would be successfully uploaded to Dropbox.
This doesn't affect versions 17.2 and later of the Dropbox app. If you're running a prior version, we've paused your camera uploads until you update to a later version of the Dropbox app.
To find which version of the Dropbox app you're using:
- Open the Dropbox app.
- Tap Recents.
- Tap the gear icon, and scroll to the App version section.
If you're running a version older than 17.2, you can easily update, here's how:
- Visit the App Store on your iOS device.
- Search for "Dropbox."
- Tap Update.
