Is it possible to upload RAW files to Photobucket?

Last Updated :

Photobucket supports most commonly used photo & video formats. So, if you are trying to upload RAW, TIF, TIFF, and SWF file types, chance are that you will encounter an error. Because, as of now, Photobucket does not support these file types. The support file formats for an image file are : gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp. The .bmp files are converted into .png files. Whereas, supported formats for video files are 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, avi, divx, flv, gif, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpeg, mpg, m4v, wmv . However, Photobucket convert all these formats to mp4 format when you upload them. In order to upload an image with an extension that is not supported by Photobucket, you can convert it into any one of the supported formats. To do so, you can take help of a graphic/image or video editor and try to convert it into a supported file type.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
