How to Set Instagram Photos and Videos to Private?

You can set your photos and videos to private so that only approved followers can see your photos and videos. If you set them to private, your approved followers will see them in the 'Photos' tab of Search & Explore or on hashtag ot location pages. By default, anyone can view your profile, photos and videos on Instagram. You can not set you posts to private from a desktop computer.

Set Instagram Photos and Videos to Private on iOS Device:

  1. Open "Instagram" app on your iOS device.
  2. Go to your Profile page.
  3. Tap "Settings".
  4. Scroll down to the "Account" tab.
  5. Move slider from left to right to turn ON "Private Account".

Set Instagram Photos and Videos to Private on Android Phone:

  1. Open "Instagram" app on your Android phone.
  2. Go to your Profile page.
  3. Tap "3 vertical dots" located at the top right corner on the screen.
  4. Scroll down to the "Account" tab.
  5. Move slider from left to right to turn ON "Private Account".

Set Instagram Photos and Videos to Private on Windows Phone:

  1. Open "Instagram" app on your Windows Phone.
  2. Go to your Profile page.
  3. Tap "Edit Profile" button.
  4. Checkmark the box to turn ON "Posts are Private".
  5. Tap "checkmark" button to save your changes.
