How to Set and Manage Shared Folder Permissions in Dropbox?

Last Updated :

Dropbox has a 'Shared folder' feature which allows you to share a photos, videos, files and folders with others. This feature is useful who need to work and share information together. By default, members of a shared folder have edit permissions. So they can add, edit and delete photos, videos and files. If you want restrict people to edit the file or folder, then Dropbox offers two ways to do this: One is, you can send a link to a file or folder which allows recipients to view and download a copy of your file or folder. Another option is, you can set view-only permissions for the members of your shared folder.  If you set the view-only permission then members will be able to view the file or folder without having the ability to edit them. You can set permission if you are a Dropbox Pro or Dropbox for Business user.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
