How to Save High-resolution Versions of Filtered Photos from Instagram?

Last Updated :

When you upload the photo to Instagram, it will save high-resolution versions of your photos to your phone. If you want to save filtered photos to your phone, then you have to turn ON the "Save Original Photos" setting which is located in your "Account Settings". Instagram saves photos in the highest resolution size possible. The maximum resolution on both Android and iOS device is 2048x2048, but your phone's resolution capabilities may be lower than that. The photos imported from iOS device's camera and uploaded to Instagram may save at a much lower resolution.

Android Phone:

If you are using Android phone, then the photo resolution capabilities are different for each phone.

Apple iOS Device:

If you are using iOS device and taking photos with the Instagram camera, then the photo resolution is :

  • 2048x2048 on the iPhone 4s and up
  • 1936x1936 on the iPhone 4
  • 1536x1536 on the iPhone 3GS

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
