If you are using web-based email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo mail, or iCloud and want to import photos and videos to Photos app, then you can import them from your email messages. To do so, open the email message. If you are using 'Safari', then control-click the photo in the email and choose "Add Image to Photos" option. If you are using another Internet browser, then Control-click the photo in the email and then choose a save option.
Once you saved the photo to your Mac, you can import it into "Photos". To import photos into Photos app, open the "Photos" app and select "File" and then select "Import" option. Select the photos which you want to import and click "Review for Import" button. If you want to import multiple photos, then select the photos and click "Import Selected" button. If you want import all the photos, then click "Import All" button. You can also drag the files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" window, Or you can drag files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" icon in the Dock.
