How to create albums on the iPad?

Last Updated :

iPad automatically organizes photos into 'collections'. But if you want to organize your photos into albums, it's pretty easy to create a custom album in the Photos app on iPad. Here's how you can create albums on the iPad
  1. First, open the Photos app and navigate to the Albums tab by tapping the button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Next, tap the plus (+) sign in the top-left corner of the screen.  If you see "< Albums" instead of a plus sign, you are already in an album.  Tap the "< Albums" button to get to the main Albums screen and then tap the plus sign.
  3. Type in a name for your new Album.
  4. When you initially create an album, you will be taken to the  "Moments" section of your Collections to move photos to your newly created album.  You can scroll through your Moments and tap any photos you want to move to the album.  You can also tap "Albums" at the bottom and select photos from other albums.
  5. Tap Done at the top-right corner of the screen to stop selecting photos and to move those photos into the newly-created album.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
