How to Change Auto-Backup between Full and Standard Resolution in Google Photos Backup?

You can easily change the settings of Auto-Backup between full and standard resolution for future Google Photos upload. To do so, you need to download and install "Google Photos Desktop Uploader" on your computer. Once you have installed Google Photos on computer, you will see the "Photos" icon in the System tray of your computer (left in the clock). If you want to change the settings, then right-click the "Photos" icon and choose "Settings..." option. Here you can choose the setting which you like for "Photo size".

  1. Keep your photos to other place on your computer, because we are going to delete your backed up photos.

  3. Delete the trash bin in Google+ Photos. So the deleted photos are really gone.
  4. Stop "Google Photos Desktop Uploader". To do so, right-click the system tray icon and select "Quit" option.
  5. Delete the following folder: On Windows: %localappdata%GoogleGoogle Photos Backup, On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Google Photos Backup/.
  6. Start "Google Photos Desktop Uploader" again. You will see it in your Start menu.
  7. Choose "Settings..." option.
  8. Choose the setting you like for "Photo Size".
  9. This way you can change Auto-Backup between full and standard resolution in Google Photos Backup.
