How to Automatically Sync iPhone and iPad Videos with your Computer?

Last Updated :

My Photo Stream allows you to access the recent photos which you take with your iPhone and iPad on Mac or Windows PC, but ir doesn't work with videos. So, if you want to transfer and sync your videos from iPhone and iPad to your computer or laptop, then you can use Dropbox. To automatically sync iPhone and iPad videos with your computer, you need to download and install "Dropbox" app on your iPhone / iPad and "Dropbox Desktop Application" on your computer or laptop. It is a free app from the App store on your iOS device and it offers 2 GB of free storage space to all its users.

Here are the steps to Automatically Sync iPhone and iPad Videos with your Computer:

  1. Go to https://www.dropbox.com/ & sign in to your account.
  2. Download "DropBox" app on your iPhone or iPad from the Apple App store & launch it.
  3. Click "Settings" on iPhone, select "DropBox" option.
  4. Select "Camera Upload" option.
  5. Turn "Camera Upload" ON.
  6. Once "Camera Upload" is enabled, you will see 2 options i.e "Only Wi-Fi" & "Wi-Fi+Cell".
  7. Click "Only Wi-Fi" option & then click "Enable" button located at the top right corner.
  8. A pop-up window "DropBox would like to Access your Photos" opens up, click "OK" button to automatically upload your videos.
  9. All your videos will now be automatically uploaded to DropBox.
  10. Download and install "Dropbox Desktop Application" on your computer. It creates a dedicated folder "Dropbox folder" on your computer. Anything you add in this folder, it will sync to your Dropbox account on the cloud.
  11. You can drag and drop your videos from this Dropbox folder into any location on your computer.
  12. You can also download your videos from Dropbox to Computer using Dropbox website. If you do not know how to download videos from Dropbox to computer, then you can follow the link provided here.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
