What is the Samsung Device app and How does it Work with Dropbox?

Last Updated :

The Samsung Device app is developed by Samsung. It gives your device access to the contents of your Dropbox folder. It syncs the contents of your Dropbox folder to your device's built-in photo gallery. It has a 'DocumentSync' feature on your phone which  allows you to add, edit and delete any files appear in this folder. So, Samsung Device app also sync the contents of your Dropbox folder to a DocumentSync folder.

Once you enabled the Samsung Device app, any synced Dropbox files you delete or modify from within your device's gallery or DocumentSync folder will be changed or deleted in Dropbox as well. So, it is better to disable the Samsung Device app. This app is separate from Dropbox and can be disabled without affecting Dropbox. You can also disable this app from the Dropbox website. Dropbox allows you from the website to see who added, deleted or changed a file by looking at the previous version history.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
