How to turn notifications on or off in Instagram for iOS?

If you use Instagram a lot, you'll want to make sure that you get the notifications that you want, and not get overwhelmed with those you don't. You can control which types of notifications you receive from within the Instagram app itself, while you can toggle settings on or off app-wide from your device's Settings app. You can also choose to enable notifications for specific people so that you never miss a post from your favorite users.
  1. Open the Settings app. You can adjust your app-wide notification settings from your iOS device's Settings app. You can find this app on one of your Home screens.
    - If you can't find the Settings app, swipe down on your Home screen and search for "Settings."
  2. Tap "Notifications." This will open the settings for notifications for all of your installed apps.
  3. Select "Instagram" from the list of apps. This will display Instagram's notifications settings.
    - If Instagram is not appearing, you may need to wait until you've received a notification from someone.
    - If Instagram is still not appearing on the list, even after receiving a notification in the app, uninstall the Instagram app, restart your phone, and then install it again. When you launch the reinstalled app, select "Allow Notifications" when prompted, and Instagram should appear in the Notifications section of the Settings app.
  4. Toggle "Allow Notifications" on or off. When notifications are turned off, you will not receive notifications of any type from the Instagram app.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!

PicBackMan was really easy to setup and has been running for 3 days now backing up all my locally saved photos to Flickr. My photos are really valuable to me so it's great to be able to have them easily backed up to a secure location.

It's AWESOME!! I have tens of thousands of pictures...and they are now successfully uploaded to SmugMug, where they are safely backed up, and I can edit and organize them. If you are hesitating about using PicBackMan, hesitate no longer...try it...and you'll be glad you did!!
