How to Import Photos from Hard Disk to Photos App?

Photos app allows you to import photos or videos from hard disk or other storage device. You can import photos or videos from a storage device such as hard disk, CD or DVD, or a flash drive. Imported photos appear in the 'Last Import' album in 'Albums' view. You can copy your photo files to iCloud Drive from any Mac computer.

Here are the steps to Import Photos from Hard Disk to Photos App:

  1. Connect your hard disk to your Mac.
  2. You have 3 options to import photos.
    a) You can drag files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" window.
    b) You can drag files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" icon in the Dock.
    c) Open "Photos" app and select "File" and then select "Import" option. Select the photos which you want to import and click "Review for Import" button. If you want to import multiple photos, then select the photos and click "Import Selected" button. If you want import all the photos, then click "Import All" button.
  3. Select any one of the available options listed above.
