How to create a photo album on an iPad using the 'Places' album?

Last Updated :

The 'Places' album is the map of your photos which you can zoom in or out on to view exactly where you recorded a video or snapped a picture on your last trip. Following is the step by step process to create a photo album on an iPad using the 'Places' album :
  1. Tap the Photos app.
  2. Tap the 'Places' album
  3. Tap and drag the map to find pictures. Pins on the map will indicate where the photos were taken. The number next to the picture shows how many pictures were taken at that sport.
  4. Pinch to zoom in and out as well. A town you visited may show a lot of pictures as its pin, but as you zoom in you'll see new distinct pins for different parts of the town you took pictures at.
  5. Tap 'Grid' to view a list of places. The "Grid" button is located at the top of the screen. The map will be replaced with a list of places you've been organized in a grid.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
