How to Create a New iMovie Library?

Last Updated :

iMovie library is a collection of one or more events. An event is a grouping of footage based on the date and time the clips were recorded. You have only one iMovie library but you can create additional library files in different locations on your internal hard disk or on different hard disks. iMovie allows you to access and work on any library at any time. To create a new library, open "iMovie" on your Mac. Choose "File" tab and select "Open Library" option and then click "New". A "Save" window opens up. Type a name for the new library and navigate to the location where you want to save it. By default, your library will save in the Movies Flder in your home folder. Click "Save" button. This is how you can create a new iMovie library in the location you choose and a new empty event with today's date.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
