Apple announced new Photos app to replace iPhoto and Aperture. You can store all of your photos in the cloud using Photos app along with iCloud Photo Library. You need an iOS 8 and later with upgraded version to accommodate your iCloud Photo Library.
To upload Photos into iCloud Photo Library, first you need to turn ON "iCloud Photo Library" on your iOS devices. Open "Settings" and tap "iCloud" and then tap "Photos". Now move slider from left to right to turn ON "iCloud Photo Library". iCloud Photo Library allows you to automatically upload and store your entire library in iCloud. You can access your photos and videos from all of your devices. If you want to use iCloud Photo Library on all of your devices, then you need to turn ON it on all of the devices. You can upload photos into iCloud over Wi-Fi network.
Once you have turned ON iCLoud Photo Library on your iOS devices, you have two different options to handle and store photos i.e. 'Optiomize iPhone/ iPad Storage' or 'Download and Keep Originals'. The first option 'Optimize iPhone/ iPad Storage' option allows you to reduce the file size of the photos on the device and keep the full resolution versions of the photo in iCloud. The second option 'Download and Keep Originals' allows you to keep the full resolution version of the photos in iCloud and locally on the device.
