How to Add Photos and Video Clips from iPhoto?

You can use iMovie to add photos and video clips from iPhoto or Aperture. There is a variety of other content you can add to your iMovie projects. You can add photos, video clips, elements, events from the included iPhoto content library to iMovie. All the  photos and video clips in your iPhoto libraries are automatically available for use in the 'Libraries list'. You can also add sound effects, animated travel maps, backgrounds and much more from the content library.

Following are the step to Add Photos and Video Clips from iPhoto:


Adding Photos from iPhoto:

  1. Select your iPhoto library from the Libraries list.
  2. Choose Albums from the pop-up menu located at the top of the browser.
  3. Scroll through the thumbnails of the photos in the selected album.
  4. Select the photo which you want to use to see a preview in the viewer.
  5. Drag the photo to the timeline between clips or between a clip and a transition to insert the photo.
  6. As you drag the photo, a blue box appears in the timeline, indicating where the photo will appear in the timeline.
Adding Video Clips from iPhoto:
  1. Select your iPhoto library from the libraries list.
  2. Choose Albums from the pop-up menu located at the top of the browser.
  3. Scroll through the thumbnails of the video clip in the selected album.
  4. Select the photo which you want to use to see a preview in the viewer.
  5. Replace a clip with the photo.
  6. Drag the photo on top of a clip in the timeline.
  7. As you drag, a white border appears around the clip in the timeline.
  8. When you release the mouse button, choose "Replace" from the menu.
  9. The photo replaces the clip in the timeline.
