Do we need to backup RAW files?

Well, the answer to this question depends on who you are? If you are a casual photographer and do not edit the photos you click or don't sell them, they you may not backup RAW files. However if you are a professional photographer than you probably know the advantages of backing up RAW files. The scope of editing amplifies when you shoot with RAW Files and backing up RAW files assures that your originals and safely backed up and can be retrieved anytime. Here are three main reasons to backup RAW files : 1. Backup RAW files because it gives you more potential for fine-tuning photos and better the overall quality. 2. Backup RAW files because they contain much more picture information than JPEGs, especially with regards to tonal range etc. 3. Backup RAW files because they are much less prone to problems like banding and pixelation when any raw adjustments are made.
