Today, we have reached an important milestone – 25,000,000 photos have been backed up by PicBackMan users spread over 130 countries. And these are not mere picture files – these are some of the most important memories of people like you and me, of kids and their activities, of events and get-togethers, of travels and adventures and a lot more. These are 25,000,000 memories that our users have carefully backed up one folder at a time into one or more of their online accounts so they never ever lose these cherished moments.
Its unbelievable to think that less than 24 months ago, we were at the whiteboard thinking how to solve this pain point I personally had forever – I couldn’t find a way to stay backed up on our important photos and videos in spite of having multiple external hard drives, pro accounts at Flickr and SmugMug for years. The problem was really that the “process of backing up” with any of these took hours and hours of dedicated effort, it needed my attention to check that the back up was done, one folder at a time. And I just didn’t have the time or the attention span with so many other things fighting for the same. That was the foundation of what led us to “scratch our own itch” and create PicBackMan.
Within a few months, we quickly realized that we may have hit the nail on its head with a photo backup product that “just works” – its almost automatic and it actually backs up your photos more smartly than you could yourself, keeping track of photos that are backed up, the ones that errored out and need another try, photos already uploaded so there are no duplicates and a lot more.
Over the past several months’ users have found PicBackMan, downloaded it, started backing up their photos and wrote to us when they had problems as well as when they were happy to have found us. And they showed us how valuable PicBackMan was for them by backing up 25,000,000 photos as of today. And we couldn’t be happier.
We are thankful to have reached this important milestone and look forward to our mission of helping everyone on earth to back up their important memories – easily, automatically and affordably!
