What Happens to Camera's Photos When I Transfer them to iPad?

Last Updated :

Transferring photos from camera to your iPad is easy. You can transfer photos by using the SD card adapter which is available in the camera connection kit or by connecting the camera to iPad via USB cable. You will get the exact same photos transferred to the iPad by using SD card adapter or connecting the camera via USB cable. The only difference is that if you connect camera then you have to switch ON the camera and use its battery. You can transfer full resolution photos to your iPad. If you click photos in .jpg-only format then the iPad uses these jpeg for editing and viewing. If you transfer RAW photos to the iPad, then it will save them in full resolution but the iPad will only display and edit the jpg preview. So, if you edit a RAW photo on your iPad, then actually you are editing a low resolution jpg preview generated by the camera. You can shoot RAW+JPG photo so the iPad gets a better quality jpg, but it takes up more space on your iPad.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
