How to View Individual Photos in Photos App on Mac?

Photos app uses Moments, Collections and Years views to automatically organize your photos and videos. A 'Moment' is a group of photos and videos taken around the same time and in same place. A 'Collection' is a group of related moments and the 'Years' view groups all of your photos taken in the same year together. You can view your photos individually to see more details and make edits.

  • Double-click a photo thumbnail to view a photo.
  • Drag the Zoom slider or pinch open or closed located on the trackpad to zoom in or out on a photo. You can also drag the zoomed photo to reposition it.
  • Click "Favorite" button located at the toolbar to make a photo favorite. You will see the photo in 'Favorite' album.
  • Click "Info" button located at the toolbar to view the information associated with a photo.
  • Click "+" button located at the toolbar to add a photo to a new or existing album.
  • Click "Share" button located at the toolbar to share a photo using iCloud Photo Sharing, Facebook and more.
  • Click "Edit" button or choose "Image" and select "Show Edit Tools" to display the editing tools.
