If you are looking for a way to transfer photos from one Google account to another without using the 'shareable link', you'll have to work a little hard and for a little long. The process is easy but it takes time, depending on how many photos you have in your account that needs to be transferred. Here's how it is done:
Download, then Upload to new account
Note:
- If you still have the original photos and videos on your computer and/or on all other devices such as phones and tablets, you can re-upload the photos into another Google account. At this link are various ways to upload to Google Photos.
- If you no longer have the original photos and your photo collection exists only online at Google Photos, you'll need to first download all your photos and videos from Google Photos to a computer. At this link are various ways to download photos and videos.
- Only downloading using Picasa3 preserves "Captions" added in Picasa Web Albums or "Descriptions" added in Google Photos.
- Only Google Takeout downloads original and edited copies, but there is a risk of duplicates.
- Uploading using the "Desktop Uploader" gives little control and does NOT create albums.
- "Batch upload" of multiple folders to albums using Picasa3 is the easiest method if you want to convert folders to albums, but does not support "High Quality". You can upload in "Original quality" and convert later to "High Quality" though.
- It is recommended to keep the downloaded photos on a computer/hard disk as a backup because keep just one copy in the cloud is NOT safe at all!
