How to Setup iCloud on iOS Device?

Last Updated :

You need an iOS 5 or higher version to set up iCloud on iOS devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You don't need to install iCloud on iOS device because it is a built in software. iCloud allows you to keep data in sync across your computers and other devices. Once you have set up iCloud on your iOS device, it syncs your email, contacts, reminders, notes, calendars, Passbook passes, Safari bookmarks and much more to its central online server.

Here are the steps to Setup iCloud on iOS Device:

  1. Open the "Settings" app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap on "iCloud".
  3. When you first set up your device, you should have seen a screen asking you to sign in or sign up for an Apple ID and iCloud.
  4. If you're not signed in, tap the "Account" field and sign in with your Apple ID account.
  5. Move the slider from left to right to turn ON for each feature you want to enable.
  6. Tap on "Storage & Backup" located at the bottom on the screen.
  7. If you want to backup the data on your iOS device to iCloud, then move the slider from left to right to turn ON "iCloud Backup".

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
