How to Set up Google+ Photo Auto Backup on Android?

Last Updated :

Google+ has a 'Auto Backup' feature which allows you to automatically backup photos and videos to your Google+ account. To automatically backup photos and videos, you need to turn ON 'Auto Backup' feature on your Android device. First download and install Google+ app on your Android device from the Play store. You need to have Google+ activated with your Google account to access the app. To enable Auto Backup feature, open 'Google+' app on your Android device and Sign In to your account. Tap the 'Menu' button or 'three vertical dot' icon located at the top right corner on the screen. Select 'Settings' option and tap 'Auto Backup' option. A 'Auto Backup' option page opens up. Move the slider from left to right to turn ON "Auto Backup" feature. If you have multiple Google accounts linked to the Google+ app, then it will ask which account you want to use to backup your photos along with the total amount of space left on the drive. After turning ON 'Auto Backup' feature, go to backup settings and select the option back up photos 'only when Wi-Fi connection' is available or 'Over Wi-Fi or mobile network'.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
