iOS 9 users can make the most of their iCloud storage in more ways than one. The default Mail App comes in with an amazing feature with which users can save email attachment directly from the mail app to the iCloud drive. This feature saves a lot of time and eliminates the need to download the attachment before moving it to iCloud.
Here’s a step by step guide to take full advantage of this new feature.
- Open the mail app you use on your iOS device
- Choose an email message with the attachment you want to add to your iCloud account
- Tap and hold the attachment you would like to add to iCloud. You can’t add more than one attachment at the same time. You will see a share sheet on the screen.
- You will see two rows of icons. Select the bottom row and tap on “Save attachment” icon. It is the one in the shape of a cloud. This action will take you directly to the iCloud drive on your device.
- Once there, select the folder you would like to save your document and then tap on “Move to this location”
You will then be redirected back to your Mail screen. Your attachment will be in your iCloud drive and you can access it on any other device. So, with the above steps, you can easily save email attachment directly to iCloud drive from the mail app.
