How to Restore your iTunes Library Backup?

If you want to restore your backed up iTunes Library from your external drive to your computer, then follow the steps below.

Following are the steps to Restore your iTunes Library Backup:

  1. Quit "iTunes".
  2. Locate your external drive on the Desktop or Finder sidebar.
  3. Drag the iTunes folder from your external drive and drop it to desire location on your internal hard drive.
  4. By default it is saved on your Mac at Finder > username > Music.
  5. Open "iTunes" while holding down the "Option" key.
  6. A "Choose iTunes Library" window opens up.
  7. Click "Choose Library..." button.
  8. Select the iTunes folder you just moved to the internal hard drive.
  9. Click "Choose" button.
  10. Choose the iTunes Library file inside.
  11. This way iTunes will open and your iTunes Library will be restored.
