How to Import Photos from Third-Party Mobile Phone to Photos App?

If you want to import photos from third-party mobile phone, you need to connect it to your computer using a USB cable. Once you have connected, copy photos from phone into Photos app like an external storage device. There are some third-party phones which may connect to a computer using a Bluetooth connection. You can use the Bluetooth File Exchange app to import photos via Bluetooth. Most important note is, don't eject a device while the photos are being imported.

Here are the steps to Import Photos from Third-Party Mobile Phone to Photos App:

  1. Connect the third-party phone to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Drag the photos onto your computer's Internal disk.
  3. You have 3 options to import photos.
    a) You can drag files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" window.
    b) You can drag files and folders from the "Finder" to the "Photos" icon in the Dock.
    c) Open "Photos" app and select "File" and then select "Import" option. Select the photos which you want to import and click "Review for Import" button. If you want to import multiple photos, then select the photos and click "Import Selected" button. If you want import all the photos, then click "Import All" button.
  4. Select any one of the available options listed above.
