Here's how to save iPhone or iPad storage space with iCloud Photo Library

  1. To save storage optimized copies of your photos & videos, make sure iCloud Photo Library turned on. Here's how to enable iCloud Photo Library on iPhone and iPad.
  2. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.1 or higher.
  3. Tap on iCloud.
  4. Tap on Photos.
  5. Tap on the option for Optimize iPhone Storage — or iPad if that's what you're using.
