How to download iPhone Photos from My Photo stream to PC?

Last Updated :

Photo stream has a limit i.e. it can store only the latest 1000 photos in the device’s Photo Stream (i.e. Recently Added). If you add more photos exceeding this limit, older photos will be deleted.  But if you download them to your PC you won’t have this limitation.

If you do want to use Photo Stream and want to download and store those photos locally in your PC, here's the step by step guide to download iPhone Photos from My Photo stream to PC
  1. First you need to download iCloud control panel software to your PC and install it
  2. Run the iCloud software and turn on Photos -> My Photo Stream.
  3. Go to the Windows Explorer.  You can now see on the sidebar, under the Favorites branch there is a new folder called iCloud Photos. You can see this too if you click on the Computer branch.  Alternatively, you can go directly to the path you have set previously in the iCloud options.
  4. If you open any of this folder you will see My Photo Stream and other Shared Album folders.Your Photos should start to appears now as they are downloaded to your PC.
  5. Open My Photo Stream and you should see all the photos.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
