If you want to download a single photo or video from Google Photos, there are two ways to do it. One, when the photo is open and the other by selecting it from the album. Below is the step by step process to download a single photo or video from Google Photos in both the ways:
A. When the photo is open
- Find a photo or video, then left-click to open it.
- Click the "three dots" (More options) icon at the top-right corner and select "Download" (Ctrl+D).
- When a photo is edited in Google Photos the edited copy is downloaded.
- If you want to download the original, select "Download Original" to download the unedited copy (this option is only shown when a photo is edited).
- Or simply just drag & drop the photo to a folder on the computer.
B. By selecting a photo in the grid (album)
- Select a photo or video by hovering over it and clicking the check mark in the top left corner. A blue bar appears.
- Click the "three dots" (More options) icon at the top-right corner and select "Download".
- After downloading the .zip file your browser prompts you to save the .zip file. You can also rename the zip at this time.
- Click "Save" and specify a location to download.
- Unzip the zip file.
- In Windows Explorer, right-click the zip file, click "Extract All" then "Extract".
- When unzipping is finished, you may delete the zip file.
