How to Delete Video Clips from Event Library in iMovie?

If you have unwanted video clips in your Event Library, then you can easily delete them and free up space on your computer. If you want to delete video clips permanently from Event Library, then you need to mark them as "Rejected" and move them to the Trash. Empty the trash to delete the videos from your hard disk. Once you have deleted the videos from trash, you can not restore them. If you want to delete all video clips, select all video clips and click 'Delete' button.

Following are the steps to Delete Video Clips from Event Library in iMovie:

1. Open "iMovie" on your Mac.
2. Click "Event Library".
3. Select the Event you want to delete video from.
4. A "Event Browser" opens up.
5. Select the video clips which you want to delete from the event.
6. Click "Delete" or "Reject" button located at the iMovie toolbar.
7. You will see a "Show" pop up menu below the Event browser. If you choose "All clips" option, a red line appears across the top of the rejected frames. If you choose "Favorites Only" or "Favorites Unmarked" option, then the rejected video clips disappear from view.
8. Choose "File".
9. Click "Move Rejected Clips to Trash".
10. Click "View Rejected Clips" to review the clips that you have marked for deletion.
11. You will see the rejected clips in the selected Event.
12. Click "Move Rejected to Trash" button located at the top right corner of the Rejected Clips window.
13. Click "Move to Trash" button. The video is removed from your Events, but it still occupies space in the Trash.
14. Click the desktop outside of the iMovie window to see "Finder" menus at the top of your computer screen.
15. Choose "Finder".
16. Click "Empty Trash".
