How do I uninstall Google Photos Backup?

Last Updated :

Google Photos is a great place to have all your photos backed up to. Your photos and videos are automatically backed up and organized, so you can find and share them faster - and never run out of space on your phone. But if for any reason, you wish to uninstall Google Photos backup, the following is the process how you do it on a Mac system and a Windows system.

Mac
  1. Quit the Google Photos Backup application by opening the Google Photos Backup menu and selecting Quit.
  2. Open the Applications folder.
  3. Drag Google Photos Backup to the trash (on your Dock).
  4. You can purge your trash by right-clicking the trash and selecting Empty Trash.
Windows
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Uninstall a Program.
  4. Right-click Google Photos Backup > Uninstall.
That's it. The Google Photos Backup will be uninstalled from your computer

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
