Mobile photography tip - Keep your lens clean

Last Updated :

'Keep your lens clean' might be the simplest of all the tips you have ever read about mobile photography. However, it is not that simple. Where do you keep your mobile phones, in pocket or in your purse? Both these places are not clean. Not clean enough to keep our phone. There are tiny dust particles called 'grime' that lives deep in the fabric. A filth that enters your camera lens and result in hazy, dark images that never look good. No matter how many filters or effects you apply, but they remain looking dull and low quality. Fingerprints are another very common problem on camera lenses. What should you do to keep your lens clean? The first thing you can do is, use a sleeve or a cover for your phone. A cover that covers the lens as well. An easy to use cover solves the purpose. Second this you can do is, give your phone lens a quick wipe. Don't worry they are tough, you can use a soft cloth or a tissue paper to wipe it off. But, don't make it a regular habit as, it may scratch your lens. You can use ear-buds too to clean your camera. Dip it in an alcohol based based cleaning solution and wipe the lens. Then use a clean dry, soft cloth or a dry ear-bud to wipe it dry. Your eyeglass cleaning cloth is also one good option to clean your phone camera lens. So they are many available options to clean your phone camera. But ensure that you don't apply too much of force that may cause any damage to the lens. It is in inside the upper layer of your lens. Do not try cleaning it at home. Take to a repair shop and see if they can help cleaning the lens from inside.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
