How to Transfer Videos from Mac to iPhone using iCloud?

Last Updated :

A direct way to transfer your videos from Mac to iPhone is, using iCloud. Once you copy a certain video to iCloud drive, you can access it from any of your Apple devices with the same Apple ID. iCloud is a cloud storage service alike other services like Google Drive, DropBox, SkyDrive, but with the advantage of being inbuilt in the later versions of Apple devices. You would find it easy to transfer your videos, once you go through the steps.
The steps are as follows:

  1. On your iPhone, go to ‘Settings > iCloud > Photos’ and turn the iCloud Photo Library ON.
  2. For Mac: Go to ‘System Preferences > iCloud’. Click the options button next to ‘Photos’ and select ‘iCloud Photo Library’.
  3. On your Mac, select the videos you want to transfer to a shared photo stream.
  4. Now click the ‘Share’ button in the tool bar.
  5. Select ‘iCloud’ and click on a shared stream.
  6. Optionally write something to comment and hit ‘Publish’.
  7. Now on your iPhone, go to your ‘iCloud Photo Library’ and you can see the videos posted from Mac. You can download the videos to watch offline.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
