How to Move Videos from iMovie Event Library to an External Hard Drive?

You can easily move videos from iMovie Event Library to an external haed drive to save space on your computer's hard drive. You can copy an Events to an external hard drive. Once you moved the Events, then they are deleted from the original location. To do so, you need to connect an external hard drive to you computer and it must be formatted as Mac OS Extended.

Here are the steps to Move or Copy Videos from iMovie Event Library to an External Hard Drive:

  1. Connect a compatible external hard drive to your Mac computer.
  2. Open "iMovie" on your Mac.
  3. Click "Hard Disk" button (located at the top right corner on the Event Library) to see all available hard disks, which are listed in your "Event Library".
  4. Select the Events which you want to move or copy.
  5. If you want to move the Events, hold down the Command key as you drag the Events to the icon of the hard disk you want to move them to.
  6. If you want to copy the Events, drag them to the icon of the hard disk, in the Event Library, you want to copy them to.
