How to Merge iPhoto Events on the Photos app for Mac?

Last Updated :

iPhoto helps you to organize, edit and share all of your photos. You can re-organize your photos by merging 2 or more Events. Merging two Events in iPhoto is very easy, you can simply drag one Event into another Event. But, how do you merge your old iPhoto events to new iPhoto i.e. Photos app for Mac.

You will not see the Events in Photos app. The Photos app for Mac is structuring the iPhoto Library into Moments and it is based on dates and locations. You can not change the Moments.

Once you have migrated iPhoto Library to Photo app for Mac, it will create an album for each event in the iPhoto Library. In iPhoto, you could move photos from one Event to another, it works same with the albums in Photos app for Mac. You can simply drag a photo from one album to another and you will have to remove the photo from the original album.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
