Instagram is an online mobile photo & video sharing service which is specifically designed for smartphones. There are 3 easy steps to get your digital camera photo to Instagram. You can do this with the help of Dropbox and your iOS or Android phone.
First of all transfer your digital camera photos to computer. You can transfer your photos from your digital camera to your computer with a card reader or by connecting your camera via USB cable that came with the digital camera. Copy the photos which you want to upload to Instagram. You can edit photos on your computer before you post them to Instagram. You can use Adobe Photoshop, Pixir or GIMP to edit your photos. You need to crop photo in a square and area with a 1:1 ratio. You can also crop your photos in Instagram app.
After editing the photos, you need to move them to a cloud storage service. Here we are using Dropbox cloud storage service to backup photos. This is an additional benefit of providing an off-site backup. You need to download and install 'Dropbox Desktop Application' on your computer. Once you installed Dropbox, it creates a dedicated folder i.e. 'Dropbox' folder on your computer. Whatever you store in this folder, it will automatically sync and upload to Dropbox account on the cloud. You can access your Dropbox photos anywhere on any device. To move photos to Dropbox, go to 'Dropbox' folder and create a new folder called 'Instagram Photos'. Copy the photos which you want to upload to Instagram.
Now, you need to download your photos on your mobile phone. You can use iOS as well as Android phone. First you have to download and install Dropbox app on your iOS or Android phone. If you are using iOS device, open 'Dropbox' app on your iOS device and navigate to the 'Instagram Photos' folder. Select the photo, you will see a star (*) icon located at upper right corner on the screen. Tap "*" and then tap 'Download' button located at upper right corner on the screen. Tap "Save to Photo Library" option. The photos will be stored in your iPhone's gallery.
If you are using Android phone, open 'Dropbox' app and tap 'Camera Uploads' button. You will see all your photo & video folders. Navigate to the 'Instagram Photos' folder. Select the photo and tap 'Export' button located at the bottom on the screen. You will see the list of applications, select 'Save to SD card' option. Your photos will now be downloaded to Android phone.
After downloading photos to iOS device or Android phone, now you can upload them to Instagram account.
Upload Photos from iOS to Instagram: Open "Instagram app" on your iOS device. Tap the box in the bottom-left corner to go to your phone's photo album or gallery.
