Exporting photos in a selected format using Photos app is easy. You can choose the size and format for the exported photos. You can export .jpeg, .tiff and .png file types. .JPG creates small size suitable for use with websites and other photo apps. .TIFF file format works well for transferring photos between computers and apps. .PNG is lossless file format and popular for web images.

Following are the steps to Export Photos in a Selected Format using Photos App:

  1. Open "Photos" app on your Mac.
  2. Select the photos that you want to export.
  3. Choose "File" tab.
  4. Select "Export" option.
  5. Select "Export [number] Photos" option.
  6. Click "Photo Kind" pop-up menu to choose the file type for the exported photos.
  7. Click "File Name" pop-up menu to choose how to name the exported files.
  8. Click "Subfolder Format" pop-up menu to choose how to divide the exported files into folders.
  9. Click "Export" button.
  10. Choose where to save the exported photo files.
  11. Click "Export" button.
