How to Delete an Amazon S3 Bucket using S3 Browser?

Last Updated :

"S3 Browser" is a Windows client for Amazon S3 which is used to upload, download and share your photos, videos and objects at any time. You can also delete an Amazon S3 Bucket and delete an External Bucket.

To delete an Amazon S3 Bucket, open "S3 Browser" on your computer and select the bucket which you want to delete and click "Buckets" tab and then select "Delete Bucket" option. A "Confirm Bucket Deletion" dialog opens up. Confirm that you would like to delete the bucket by checking "I confirm permanent deletion of the bucket and click Delete Bucket". This way all the files within the bucket are deleted and the list of available buckets will be refreshed.

External Buckets are the buckets shared with you by another user. You can also delete or disconnect from External Buckets. To delete an External Bucket, open "S3 Browser" on your computer and select an external bucket which you want to delete and click "Buckets" > "Delete Bucket". It will ask you to confirm, click "Ok" button. It will removed from the list and all the files from the bucket will remain intact. This External Bucket can only be deleted by the bucket owner.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
