Apple's Photos app was introduced in iOS 7 and working fine on the Mac. Google Photos is an application provided by Google. It is a free download for iOS, so you can run it on your iPhone or iPad along with Android.

Apple's Photos app offers you 5 GB of free storage space to all its users. But, this storage is also used for your iOS device backups, photo or video library, and documents.
